Replacing old MLC9000 with MLC9000+

The original MLC9000 was replaced by the MLC9000+ in 2005.

Although similar, you cannot mix modules from the old and new types on one system. Anyone wishing to replace faulty modules or to expand an existing system, will instead have to replace the entire MLC9000 system with an equivalent MLC9000+.

Each MLC9000+ system has one bus module and up to 8 loop control modules (these can each support 1, 3 or 4 loops depending on the type – so max 32 loops if all are 4 loop type.

The modules from these two systems are incompatible, so cannot be mixed in one system, but you can have old and new types together on the fieldbus.

The table below can be used to spec a replacement system.
